This year we are delighted to have our food provided by Brentford's very own Lord Nelson, who will be offering canapes while we're gathering and then a buffet after the formalities.

We'd like to thank Fullers for sponsoring the food and drink, as well as for hosting us at The Hock Cellar.

On Saturday 21st April Brentford High Street Steering Group is organising St George's Day celebrations in the Market Square.

We thought it would be a good idea to have Brentford Chamber represented there and so intend to take a stall.

We would like all members who can to deliver a sample of what they produce so that we can have an interesting display as well as any leaflets you may wish to give out.

More details will follow but if you have a sample or leaflets ready please contact a member of the executive to arrange delivery.

We would like members to be creative about providing something that represents their business. It may be a promotional item you already stock.

This may take some creative thinking on your part, but it would help promote Brentford businesses if we had a creative display we could use repeatedly.

Syon_Park_July_2011_300You are invited to our annual picnic at Syon House  where we shall have a brief tour of the archaeological digs followed by a picnic on the front lawn. Please bring your own picnic.

This will take place on Wednesday July 13th  You are warmly welcome to invite family and colleagues to this occasion.

We will gather for 6pm with a tour at half six, and will be joined for our picnic by Leslie Feore and Emma Hadleigh-Sparks of Syon Park as well as archaeologists.

Archaeologist Harvey Sheldon explains: "This season, for the first time, the training excavation is taking place on the western approach to Syon House.  A geophysics course last year suggested that there were 2 further courtyard enclosures west of the standing house.  Although our dig only began on Monday 4th July there are already indications that the main southern wall of the western most court has been located.  It appears to be running directly between the south western tower of the existing house and the southern Pepperpot Lodge."
