Jelly Week is a new worldwide initiative to promote co-operative working in shared facilities such as those provided by the Brentford Docking Station.

Andrew Dakers gave us a brief update on the history so far of the Docking Station and Steve Mathews briefed us on the workshops for businesses that he is running in Brentford funded by the Outer London Fund.

We had several new guests and hope to see them again soon.

The Community Sports Trust was out in force, making sure we had all got our invitations to the upcoming 25th Anniversary.

We enjoyed a light buffet and several glasses of wine.

It is with regret that I announce the death, on January 23rd, of  Brian Wilson, who was President of the Brentford Chamber of Commerce from 1982-1984.

Brian's funeral will be held at Mortlake Crematorium on Thursday, 2nd February at 12.00.

Flowers can be sent to H.G Brown & Sanders, 512 Great West Road, TW5 0TE (by 10.00 am 2nd February).

Members of Brentford Chamber are very welcome to attend the funeral and to join the family afterwards.

Our November meeting was excellently hosted by Charlotte Reeves and her team at the Audi Quattro Rooms, the top two floors of the brightly lit Audi building that overlooks the A4. Floor to ceiling glass provided an unmissable opportunity to stand by the window and look out over Brentford, even in the dark a great sight.

2011-11-AudiQuattroRoomsOver 50 of us gathered and networked over a glass or two before entering the presentation room where David Laycok and his team gave us a presentation focusing on the business potential of  Ballymore's high street development. A free and frank discussion followed.

Charlotte briefly talked to us about Audi and the Audi Quattro Rooms and their superb facilities before we all went upstairs for a welcome buffet.

It was a most enjoyable evening and we look forward to returning next year.

The Executive Committee discussed Brentford Chamber's annual fees in its December meeting and has decided to raise the fees as follows:

Annual Subscription Rates

  • Organisations employing 1-10 inclusive
  • Organisations employing 11-30 inclusive

This is in accordance with 2004 AGM where members agreed an automatic increase in line with inflation.

Membership invoices will be issued in mid-February. Please ensure you send payment to the address on the invoice as we still have one or two payments going to Brentford High Street or worse.
